Assessment and Evaluation

The regular assessment of students’ work is considered crucial to the educational process. Progress is discussed with both parents and students. Each term students’ work in all subjects is reviewed and a result analysis is prepared to decide on future strategies for different achievement levels.

• The School has provisions for the 10+2 scheme of education with approved facilities for the academic stream in classes from K.G. to Class XII.

• The academic year is divided into two terms. K.G. to Class XII

The academic year is divided into two terms. FOR K.G. - CLASS III

Examination will be held for classes K.G. to III. The pupil's daily progress in oral and written work will be assessed and recorded.

Language I Board will conduct Class - X Examination for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus of the subject of Class -X only. The same will be followed for Class IX. Periodic written test, restricted to three in each subject in an Academic year.

2. Co-Scholastic Activities
Co-curricular activities promote holistic development of the student. These include Work Education, Art Education, Performing Arts and Health and Physical Education. The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork will be the criteria for grading. Students will be graded on a 3-point grading scale (A to C) for classes IV to VIII and a 5-point grading scale (A to E) for Classes IX & X.

3. Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity, Behavior, Values)
Discipline, sincerity, good behavior and values develop strength and foster unity and co-operation. Assessment for discipline will be based on factors like attendance, sincerity, behavior, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Students will be graded on a 3-point grading scale (A to C) for classes IV to VIII and a 5-point grading scale (A to E) for Classes IX & X.

For Class XI
1. Assessment for class XI will be based on the student’s continuous academic performance during the year. The weightage allocated to formative assessment and examination is given below

Term I - 20%
Term II - 60%
2. No test or exam will be conducted for absentees. If a student is absent for a test or exam, she will be marked zero in it. All tests are as important as Terminal Examinations. 3. Grades will be given in the following areas of learning:
 •Work..Experience
 •Physical…Education
 •Value Education/Catechism
A student must pass in the above areas of learning in order to be declared passed or promoted.

For Class XII
The Pre-board Examination is compulsory for class XII and will be conducted on the board pattern. Every student must do these and get a pass percentage in all five subjects if she has to be declared fit for the board examination.

General Rules for Examination
1. Students found using unfair means during test or an examination will be marked zero in that subject. They will also not be eligible for any academic award or the student council. Serious action will be taken against a repetitive defaulter. 2. A medical certificate stating a severe illness of a student may be accepted and the student exempted from the final examination. 3. Parents are strongly advised not to send their children to school for examination if they are ill. However, a serious view will be taken of those students who regularly absent themselves from tests and exams.
